Greater Eugene Area Riders (GEARs) are excited to announce our 24th annual signature fundraising ride, the Blackberry bRamble. Because of the support of organizations like yours we have continued the success of this fundraiser for more than two decades. We invite you to celebrate the beauty, challenge, and fun of this event by encouraging your employees to ride with us as well as by sponsoring our event.

The 2024 Blackberry bRamble has ride options for everyone: from the experienced cyclist to novice first-time participants. Included will be rest stops, signage, options for merchandise, and a BBQ dinner with blackberry pie with ice cream at the celebratory finish. As a sponsor at any level, you are welcome to have a booth at the finish.

The Greater Eugene Area Riders (GEARs) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization that strives to educate the community and improve the quality of urban life by promoting and facilitating safe bicycling! We work to enhance bicycle culture by coordinating safety and skill classes and leading regularly-scheduled rides for various skill levels. We encourage public, private, and governmental entities to develop better cycling facilities by protecting the rights and responsibilities of bicycle riders as vehicle operators for transportation as well as coordinating and leading community bicycling events.

Proceeds from the bRamble help support GEARs operations, advocacy and education projects, and local charitable causes relating to active transportation. We maintain a form on our website for organizations seeking funding. Past local causes that have received proceeds include Safe Routes to School, Eugene Adaptive Recreation, the Center for Appropriate Transport, Lane County Fire Stations and BEST (Better Eugene Springfield Transportation).

In 2023, a percentage of funds raised by the Blackberry bRamble went to FreeBikes4Kids and Shift Community Cycles. This year, we are pleased to announce that a portion of this year’s proceeds will continue to benefit Free Bikes 4 Kidz and Shift Community Cycles. We will also be using some of the funds to invest in CPR training for our ride leaders.

Your sponsorship plays a huge role in our ability to promote a safer and healthier community through active transportation and we appreciate your consideration for sponsoring the 2024 Blackberry bRamble! Thank you in advance for your support,

Kayna Robison
President – Greater Eugene Area Riders
